description_str_mv Leonardo Luis Castellani, poet and priest (Santa Fe, 1899 –Buenos Aires, 1981), is the author of a vast literary production, with writings that are properly literary or poetic, and writings that are philosophical and theological. All of these writings are characterised by a unity of intention, which can be traced throughout his heterogeneous work and which provides organicity. This unity of intention resides in the constant preoccupation of enquiring in the issue of the novisimos, giving to his whole work an apocalyptic tone, in the orthodox sense of the word. The theme of the aftermath, either personal or universal, constitutes a sort of fxed idea, leit motiv, that appears and reappears in his texts. Castellani conceived in “Jauja” the symbol through which he could verbally exteriorise the idea that obsessed him throughout his life. This article aims at establishing a collated and commented edition of the poem, regarding the autographical manuscript of the poem, together with the frst editions of it.
