Sumario:One of the main problems that appear for the investigation in turf on adaptability of different species and its mixtures or the introduction from other new ones, consists of the difficulty to calculate the density of plants, in form sufficiently approximated to the real results like allowing to statistically valid comparisons of the quality or uses of the resulting cultive. A new methodology sets out to replace that traditional of calculation of necessities of seed by percentage proportions in weight, with densities determined by test and error according to the final result by aspect and correction of single amount of mixture by cultural value. The proposal considers mathematical calculations to determine the exact amount of seeds to use to obtain a final density of plants controlled, considering weight specific of the seed and cultural value, affecting the resulting data by a correction factor (CN) that relates the obtained theoretical value to the answer to field. It is to say the amount of seed to use must calculate based on the density of plants wished. In the present work the factor CN will be determined for different species. Parting of the hypothesis that is possible to improve the forms of selection of species and preparation of mixtures through the calculation of the necessity of seeds by cm2 and that some of the used species have low efficiency in the relation seed-plants, reason why would be due to fit its proportion in the local commercial mixtures according to this factor of culture. As methodology sets out: a. analysis of germinative power, purity and specific weight of commercial seeds; b. with four repetitions, in blocks at chance individual sowings of the species in ideal conditions of substrate, illumination and humidity and sowing in the same conditions of field will be made that a traditional culture; c. count of the number of seedlings obtained in each case; d. with the average results and its respective intervals of confidence are considered the coefficients (CN). This new way to calculate the exact amounts of each component of a mixture for turf opens a very important field to the investigation of suitable species more to each atmosphere, since traditional metodology leads to very ambiguous results and of difficult comparison.
