Sumario:Analgesics represent the pharmacological strategy in the control of pain during endodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to distinguish the analgesics most frequently indicated in endodontic practice and to establish the clinical situations where their use is indicated. Sixty surveys were distributed in the UNA Cuyo FO about the use of analgesics for pain control in endodontics. The most commonly prescribed analgesic is Ibuprofen 400 - 600mg every 8 hours and Ketorolac 20mg every 8 hours. The predominant prescription was according to pain or for 5 days. The situations where analgesics are most frequently prescribed are: Irreversible pulpitis with Acute Periodontitis. Acute: with moderate or severe preoperative symptoms; Irreversible pulpitis: with moderate or severe preoperative symptoms, these being the most relevant Continuing education is important to update some concepts about the administration of analgesics
