Sumario:Objective: Determine frequency of rebleeding after a subarachnoid hemorrhage during the initial 21 days as a rupture of aneurysm´s complication. Design: descriptive study, retrospective Materials and methods: Patients enrolled in the database of the UTI Central Hospital that had suffered from a subarachnoid hemorrhage for a rupture of aneurysm during a period from June 2006 to January 2010 were analyzed. The number of patient who suffered rebleeding as a rupture of aneurysm´s complication in non-surgical treatment cases during the initial 21 days of the event were identified. Results: A group of 81 patients, 44 (53%) women and 37 (47%) men, mean age 51+/-14 years was analyzed. Rebleeding occurred in 6 patients (7,4%) during the period of the study. The peak of the rebleeding (50%) was registered in the first day. 50% (3) of this complications occurred in women and 50% (3) in men. Main age of the rebleeding was 52 +/- 14 years. Conclusion: Frequency of rebleeding after a rupture of aneurysm is 7,4%, with a peak in the first day.
