Sumario:In order to legitimize their own modernity, the writers and critics associated with the Spanish American “Boom,” used to depict Rómulo Gallegos as a neo-naturalist or neo-romantic author still active in the 20th-century. It argues that its success was due in part to affinities between the Latin American literary regionalism and the avant-garde aesthetics. Understanding Gallegos’s interest on cinema is essential to redefine the links of his 1929 novel and the art of his time.
