Sumario:Between 1755 and 1759, three altarpieces were built for the church of Tecoh, a town located in northwestern Yucatan. These were characterized by stipes pilasters used with regional solutions, they copied a model used in the main altarpiece of the Mérida cathedral, who at that time was under construction supervised by Bishop Ignacio Padilla. and Estrada, himself as years before had sponsored with the clergy who could complete the temples and their decoration. Over time, these altarpieces served as inspiration for others and became the last sign of Yucatecan regional baroque. By these reasons, the objective of this article is analyze them to try to understanding the aesthetic preferences, artistic solutions, changes and local adaptations that arose from the cathedral model. They served as the axis and/or inspiration for the elaboration of this type of pieces. At the same time knowing, who was the donor and the main purpose behind their realization; all studied from the formal and stylistic analysis complemented with archive’s documents and information of the intervention carried out at the end of the 20th century.
