Summary:Aída Carballo (Buenos Aires, 1916-1985) was a local engraver of the second half of the 20th century. From a feminist perspective, this article analyzes her experience at the National Schools of Fine Arts, her performance as a teacher and her relationship with students. This article particularly argues that Carballo's involvement in the field of education is a central aspect to fully understand the ways in which she intervened as a cultural producer in Buenos Aires. Firstly, we put into context Carballo getting a position as a teacher in art schools within the curricular and teaching renovations that took place in the mid-fifties. Later, we analyze her performance as a teacher in these institutions, the impact that these experiences had on her graphic work and some significant pedagogical projects around Engraving and the History of the discipline.
