Sumario:The importance of Garachico is proven by the many artists who settled there, its privileged situation and booming economy. The case of the sculpture is particulary unique,because thanks to the presence of trained Andalusian workshops artists like Juan González de Puga and Martín de Andújar Cantos. They devoted themselves first and expanded after some iconographic models and some altarpiece typologies, which lasted well into the eighteenth century in the hands of less experienced but equally valid artists.
