Descripción
Sumario:Servicio en la mar (Luis Suárez de Lezo, 1950) is the only feature-length fiction film in the history of Spanish cinema that can be classified within the war subgenre of submarine warfare. However, its status as a propaganda film typical of the Franco regime has placed it in an uncomfortable position within the national filmography, relegating the film to oblivion.    It is a film for which there are practically no bibliographical references of interest, nor is there any record of its connection to retrospective cultural spaces. For all these reasons, this article aims to make the film visible by presenting the results of a study carried out on its production, its failed debut on the big screen in 1950, and the film's connection with the subgenre of submarine warfare.
