Sumario:The external public debt was one of the main conditioning factors of the economic policy of the government of Raúl Alfonsín (1983-1989) and of the transition to democracy from 1983 on in Argentina. Bearing this in mind, here it is proposed to corroborate the specific treatment that the debates around it had in a broad publication of the Argentine left: the magazine Between All We Want the Liberation ( ET) of the Movement All for the Homeland. Through a micro-historical approach and from the notes, debates and voices included in the publication that had its greatest activity between the years 1984-1988, it is proposed to analyze the conceptions, ideas and discussions that were opened around the Argentine foreign debt. Thus, it has been possible to verify that the position about the causes of indebtedness, how to solve it and what role society should have in this matter, were not homogeneous consensuses. On the contrary, and in a wide range of the left, the positions varied, although in most of the circulation they were linked to a defense of democracy more associated with the opposition against the previous dictatorship than with the construction of a new regime.
