| Summary: | The faculty of memory, one of the central objects of study of different fields of knowledge since the last decades of the twentieth century, is a phenomenon that involves multiple angles of individual and social life. This paper presents a didactic exposition of some of the main topics related to memory of traumatic pasts from the point of view of human and social sciences. Following this aim, we briefly develop three subjects: the relationship between individual and collective memories, the features of global culture of memory as a horizon that partially defines the contemporary world, and the processes of social memory in Argentinian Postdictatorship. |
