Sumario: | The work of Víctor Juan Guillot (Concordia, 1886-1940) from Entre Ríos, made up mostly of short stories, was hidden for years if we consider its relevance in the renewal of some genres and its impeccable narrative. In this writing I will focus on the first stage of circulation and reception of his work, specifically those stories that were published in Revista Multicolor de los Sábados (literary supplement of the newspaper Crítica), between September 1933 and April 1934. In particular, I intend to review how this form of publication impacts the author’s works, in a circuit where there was a difference between a cultured literature and a popular one, due to the incipient mass cultural industry based on the press. I believe that a critic interested in deepening the analysis of his stories should not lose sight of this context when studying them. |
