Sumario:The advance of the urban area of Bahía Blanca over the periurban area was mainly due to the expansion of residential use. In the northeast sector, the presence of two oil pipelines is a danger factor for the people who live there.Studies of satellite images, rights over the properties and the affectation of their parcel status, were considerer to generate thematic cartography of the area using Geographic Information Systems, which facilitates the understanding of the danger. When restrictions imposed when establishing oil pipeline easements are not complied with, or are applied in a wrong way, represent a real hazard to the population, their property and the environment. When comparing the land value of plots with different degrees of exposure and control plots, it was shown that there are no differences between them. Therefore, in order to make the tax burden fairer, it is necessary to apply an adjustment parameter to the fiscal value that considers this situation; although for security reasons, the ideal would be a change in the layout of the pipeline, or at least the reverse expropriation for parcels affected in a high percentage.
