It is considered that they come from the actions of various actors and practices that intervene in each of the territorial processes that have been developed over time. A slow but continuous transformation is observed, from an agricultural space to a tourist space, which is expressed not only by the influx of hikers and tourists, but also by the gradual establishment of second residents. The main objective is to analyze the territorial transformations from the incorporation of tourism, for which the historical evolution of the occupation process is studied, the environmental characteristics of the inter-Andean valleys, the public and private agents, and the demand and supply are identified. As a result, proposals are made for the future of the valley through predictions based on three possibilities: an optimistic scenario, a neutral scenario and a pessimistic scenario. La investigación da cuenta de las problemáticas suscitadas a partir de la consolidación del turismo en el valle de Yunguilla, provincia del Azuay, República del Ecuador. Se considera que las mismas devienen del accionar de diversos actores y prácticas que intervienen en cada uno de los procesos territoriales que se han gestado con el paso del tiempo. Se observa, una transformación lenta pero continua, de un espacio agrícola a un espacio turístico; cuestión que se expresa no solo por la afluencia de excursionistas y turistas, sino por el gradual establecimiento de segundos residentes. El objetivo principal es analizar las transformaciones territoriales a partir de la incorporación del turismo, para lo cual se estudia la evolución histórica del proceso de ocupación, se identifican las características ambientales de los valles interandinos, los agentes públicos y privados, y la demanda y oferta turística. Como resultado se realizan propuestas para el futuro del valle a través de unas predicciones basadas en tres posibles escenarios: uno optimista, uno neutral y uno pesimista.
