Sumario:The article offers a study about the presence of myth in the works of Leopoldo Alas “Clarín”. With that purpose it goes through the his work searching for the mythical element and organizing the material is organized into categories recognizable in the 22 sections of the paper. Starting with the use of the terms "mythology", "myth", "mythological" in the texts, the paper considers several aspects of numerous myths known from Greek and Roman literature: theogonic and succession myths; about the origin of humans; about Argos-Mycenae, Thebes, Thessaly, Aegina, Athens and Crete; about prehomeric, homeric and posthomeric tradition; about Aeneas. Finaly it considers characters involved in metamorphosis stories.
