Sumario:The essay briefly focuses on the various aesthetic, political and cultural folds of the "Sankofa Film and Video Collective" and the work of the filmmaker and artist Isaac Julien. To do this, in the first section we stop at the theoretical analyzes on Identity and black cultures carried out by the "Sankofa Film and Video Collective" from the works of Stuart Hall. In a second moment, we focus on Julien's documentary Frantz Fanon: Black Skins, White Mask (1996) and its link with the problematization of the black body. Finally, we make an open balance on the contributions of Julien's work within the space of the sensible and the aesthetics of the black diaspora based on his "docu-fiction" of the work of Frantz Fanon.
