Sumario:The purpose of this article is to analyze debates about sexual education in Argentina between 1910 and 1945, considering the gender perspective. Three interrelated axes are presented. The first one focuses on the educational system, on principles, prescriptions and weightings that were developed around sexual education. For this purpose, the magazine La Higiene Escolar, a supplementary publication of the Common Education Monitor, and the textbook Hygiene, published in 1927 and in circulation until the 1950s, are analyzed. The second axis deals with the printed production of the Liga Argentina de Profilaxis Social, founded in Buenos Aires in 1921 by a group of medicine doctors and teachers, with the aim of divulge knowledge about venereal diseases and creating popular health awareness, which included education sexual of children and adolescents. The third axis analyzes the links between the members of this Liga with the American Association for Social Hygiene, the French National League Against Venereal Danger and the Berlin Health Office, which contributed to a common discourse on sexual education based on hygienic, the prophylaxis and social eugenics.
