Sumario:The article is structured around three topics that are proposed as contributions to the agenda and the discussions about the critical extension. In the first Place, the popular movements, their role in the new Latin-American’s realities, their ways of construction and their character of central subjects for extension. In second place, the substantive functions are analyzed, based on what we call the epistemic density or the knowledge challenges of the movements, and the proposal for a dialogue of knowledge is analyzed in relation to that epistemic density. Finally, we share some reflections about the dialogue of knowledge from a methodological perspective, taking up the contributions of Popular Education.
