Sumario:The study of initial teacher training carried out within Mexican teacher training schools demands to situate it in a specific social, temporal and institutional space as well as to focus on the subjects who develop it, that is, to pay attention to the work carried out by the trainers. This research is based on this recognition, and its objective is to analyze the formative configurations developed by the trainers, based on their personal constructs that they communicate in the initial training processes experienced within the teacher training schools in the state of Oaxaca (Mexico). The study was carried out from a qualitative approach, with the use of Grounded Theory, using in-depth interviews and participant observation. The formative processes of four trainers belonging to two teacher training schools were analyzed. The results obtained in the fieldwork allowed the identification of an accentuated formative tendency marked by the teacher training model with an academic perspective, from which three configurations are derived: reproductive academic training, social academic training and practical academic training; the relevance of the personal approaches of the trainers from their own pedagogical and social constructs as part of a social and professional collective is specified.
