However, with the changes it has undergone from the 1970s to the present, the discipline comes every time more to approach local production from its own perspective and seeks to establish a dialogue on equal footing on the international level. Besides, as a result of the questioning that has taken place about concepts such as "nation", "identity" and "literariness", Comparative Literature is granted space to circulate through other areas of knowledge. This paper consists of a discussion about some of the most significant aspects of this new type of comparativism in the Latin American continent. En América Latina, la literatura comparada ha sido tradicionalmente estudiada desde una perspectiva basada ya en el modelo francés de fuentes e influencias, ya en el modelo formalista norteamericano, que ratificaba su posición de discurso dependiente. Sin embargo, con los cambios por los que ha transitado desde la década de 1970 hasta el presente, la disciplina pasa cada vez más a enfocar a la producción local según una perspectiva propia y va buscando un diálogo en pie de igualdad en el plano internacional. Además, con el cuestionamiento que han sufrido algunos de sus pilares, como los conceptos de "nación", "identidad" y "literalidad", la literatura comparada adquiere una dimensión que le permite transitar por áreas distintas del conocimiento. El presente texto es una discusión de algunos de los aspectos más significativos de este nuevo tipo de comparatismo en el continente latinoamericano.
