Descripción
Sumario:This paper analyzes the letters included in Archivo del Dr. Juan María Gutiérrez. Epistolario (Moglia y García, 1987) that refer to the anthology América Poética (edited by Gutiérrez from Valparaíso, Chile, between 1846 and 1847). Although already very studied (by Auzá, Campra, Pas, Croce, among others), the foundational América Poética has not yet been read from its letters. Taking into account Claudio Maíz and Alvaro Fernández Bravo previous researches, the main hypothesis of this article is that, as these letters express, América Poética has had an essential role among anti-rosistas exiles. It has not only allowed them to stay connected to one each other, but it also has been cause and effect for the consolidation of a tight net of reciprocate support during exile.
