With this objective, we emphasize the use of an illustrative compositional method of the influence that cinema had as a renovating aesthetic proposal of the ways of narrating such as the montage. This procedure is useful for reflecting on it not only as the basis of an experimental writing practice but rather as a metaphor for the processes of cultural assimilation of the Peruvian narrative vanguard of the twenties. El presente artículo pasa revista a las relaciones entre las técnicas y recursos narrativos considerados cosmopolitas y un imaginario de lo andino en Escalas de César Vallejo. Con este objetivo, hacemos hincapié en el uso de un método compositivo ilustrativo del influjo que tuvo el cine en tanto que propuesta estética renovadora de las formas de narrar como lo fue el montaje. Dicho procedimiento resulta útil para reflexionar acerca del mismo no sólo como sustento de una práctica de escritura experimental sino más bien como una metáfora de los procesos de asimilación cultural de la vanguardia narrativa peruana de los años veinte.
