Sumario:This paper proposes to read a speech genre of modernity itself, from the apocalyptic tones that characterize it. The Manifesto has accompanied the modern expressions from an ambiguous position, criticism and celebration at a time. The structure shows somewhat mimics the structure of the apocalypse. It denies current reality but also heralds the arrival of the new. After a tour of the complex paths of modernity in Latin America, we will stop in modernist and avant-garde manifests.
