La Vorágine picks up in replica and rejoinder the voice of Arturo Cova and that of the narrator / compiler, the voices urban that eradicate the characters, the economic voices that transform the rural space, the voices of the exploitation and the foreign influence, the voices of the destruction in front of the voices of the nature and the voices of the history: it conquers, modernity and violence. All in counterpoint foreshadow the limits of the Nation. A partir de la novela de José Eustasio Rivera, reconocemos la múltiple presencia de voces provenientes de los personajes, cuyo eco se filtra a través de la conciencia polifónica del protagonista. La Vorágine, recoge en réplica y contrarréplica la voz de Arturo Cova y la del narrador/compilador, las voces citadinas que desarraigan a los personajes, las voces económicas que transforman el espacio rural, las voces de la explotación y la influencia extranjera, las voces de la destrucción frente a las voces de la naturaleza y las voces de la historia: conquista, modernidad y violencia. Todas en contrapunto prefiguran los límites de la Nación.
