Descripción
Sumario:This article examines the environmental and sociocultural impacts derived from touristification in the PNT. This situation has diminished the quality of the destination, and in order to reposition themselves in the market, certain actors propose the management of the destination under the principles of governance. However, for the affected population this proposal represents a way to legitimize the appropriation of natural and cultural resources. Thus, conflicts of interest prevail that have not allowed the development of governance. The objective of this research is to identify and describe the factors that have led to touristification, its effects on the environment, the conflicts that have arisen, as well as the proposals by certain actors to solve the problems and obstacles present in the execution of these solutions. The methodology is based on the study of the case. Data was compiled from qualitative and quantitative sources. The work was based on a documentary review of the literature and tourism statistics in Tepoztlán. Due to the restrictions of the COVID19 pandemic, a content analysis of texts from internet pages and social networks was carried out, as well as semi-structured interviews with key actors of the population through electronic media.
