Sumario:The present works analyses the positive and negative aspects derived from the existent relations between the State and the semi-nomadic populations that take place in determined moments and historical contexts in the history of Ancient Egypt. From the revision of statal bibliographical sources – including iconographic as well as literary ones-  it is detected as a constant  the presence of inhabitants of peripheral areas of Egypt. However, from this oficial perspective, with and ideological undertone, the other is perceived in a reduccionist way: as an agent of chaos or threaten. From a  more open and comprehensive perspective of the interrelation of different worlds, the present study aims at identifying the factors that favor the effective integration of foreingers or others in the egyptioan society.
