Sumario:This paper offers an analysis on C. S. Lewis´s That Hideous Strength, a book written in 1945. The main objective was to identify some significant characteristics of the modern culture in the book, to compare those aspects with our current times, and to show, through the protagonists´decisions, the alternatives a person can freely choose in order to join one of “the two opposite cities”: St. Anne´s and Belbury.
