Sumario:The complex thought agenda is based on the debate on the sustainability of development, the principles of geographical science, the general theory of systems, socio-ecological constructs, and the improvement of study methods. Systemic and spatial approaches bring together analytical and operational concepts to model the relationship dynamics of open systems, dimension spatiality and the location of social, economic, and ecological structures in the territory. Integrated research represents an opportunity for scientific and political communication, the course will be defined by the knowledge learned and organized under a relational approach, the conciliation of methodologies and multidisciplinary intervention tools. Formulation of decision systems - planning, ordering, and management - in multiscale areas through new technologies, management, and generation of reliable information that enhances social development, solve problems inherent to territorial organization, determine the direction of the mobilization of social, economic, and natural assets, and orient alternatives of intervention and decision-making. This paper explores, through an analytical-interpretative procedure, the intellectual representations that link the concepts of territory, society, environment, complexity, and land-use planning
