Sumario:Deciphering the role of global commodity chains in the connectivity of markets with the Amazon is key to understanding the influence of its cities and their relationship with the flows of the gold route. In the case of southeastern Peru, specifically the Madre de Dios region, the process of transformation of this territorial margin and border has been conditioned by the rhythms of the degree of exploitation of the global rubber and gold economy. The aim is to understand how the system of mining city networks enabled a "conjunctural" spatial organization model to enable urban functions permeable to informal and illegal economies. From a historical and geographical approach, a mixed methodology was designed using a literature review tool, geographic information systems (GIS) and field in order to study the configuration and reconfiguration of this space. As the results of this methodology, we discuss the effects of urbanization on the emergence of centralities that consolidated the connectivity of the flows of the gold route, and mining operations in conservation areas such as La Pampa.
