Sumario: | This study performs a comparative analysis of the use of the storm as a literary motif in romantic poetry. After discussing the origin, evolution and reception of this atmospheric phenomenon and its importance in the search for a possible metaphysical dialogue, the article will explore its thematic, symbolic, and stylistic importance in the poetic postulates of European Romanticism at the end of the 19th century. In this case, we will analyze the transfer of this literary motif in “Rhyme LII” by Bécquer and “The Storm” by Zorrilla, based on the analysis of Lamartine's poem “Isolation.” The study will focus on the stylistic features, structures, conception, and development of the storm in the poetic texts analyzed. It will also look at the function of the transference between the different poems and the importance of the storm for the romantic poet, as a vehicle of transcendental and direct communication with the divine. |
