Sumario:Giacomo Leopardi (Recanati, 1798 - Naples, 1837) lived in one of the most prolific times of the creation of Italian opera, related overall to the bel canto movement, which fascinated a big part of the peninsular population, in and out of the scope of theatrical halls. The aim of this task will be to inquire the complex relationship that the Recanates poet built up throughout his life in the melodrama gender.
