Cognitive Linguistics, with its special attention on the semantic phenomena conceived as a result of the perception, the experience of the world and mental processes of association as generators of the construction of meaning, could clarify multiple textual and sense phenomena present in literary texts. The poetry of Dionisio Salas Astorga, literary referent of our time, stands out for a marked grammatical condensation that has a parallel in a semantic condensation. This allows us to hypothesize that, owing to the semantic-grammatical complexity of his texts, some of his poems would require an interpretation based on the theory of Conceptual Integration (Fauconnier & Turner, 1998; Fauconnier, 2002; 2005) for the reconstruction of its meaning. That is why, in this work we will try to make an interpretative reading of a poem from the book Últimas oraciones from the Conceptual Integration or blending theory (Fauconnier & Turner, 1998; Fauconnier, 2002; 2005). Los enfoques eminentemente retórico-literarios que descansan en las posibilidades del lenguaje no permiten dar cuentas acabadas de fenómenos más complejos que involucran a la literatura como producción particular de un autor y su cognición. La Lingüística Cognitiva con su especial atención en los fenómenos semánticos concebidos como resultado de la percepción, la experiencia de mundo y los procesos mentales de asociación humanos como generadores de la construcción del significado, podrían aclarar múltiples fenómenos textuales y de sentido presentes en los textos literarios. La poesía de Dionisio Salas Astorga, referente literario de nuestro tiempo, sobresale por una marcada condensación gramatical que tiene paralelo en una condensación semántica. Esto nos permite hipotetizar que, debido a la complejidad semántico-gramatical de sus textos, algunos de sus poemas exigirían una interpretación a partir de la teoría de la Integración Conceptual (Fauconnier &Turner, 1998; Fauconnier, 2002; 2005) para la reconstrucción de su sentido. Es por ello que en este trabajo intentaremos hacer una lectura interpretativa de un poema del libro Últimas oraciones a partir de la Integración Conceptual o blending (Fauconnier &Turner, 1998; Fauconnier, 2002; 2005).
