This first edition – with the modifications that we will mention – has been re-edited until 2017. We aim to make a contribution to interpretative grammar studies and to the historiography of didactic grammaticography of foreign languages through the description of the textual and peritextual elements of this grammar, its didactic sequences and sources. Este artículo describe la Gramática sucinta de la lengua alemana de 1878 de Emil Otto, adaptada para el español por Francisco Gaffino, una gramática que ajusta el método Gaspey-Otto-Sauer a la enseñanza del alemán como lengua extranjera para hispanohablantes y constituye la primera edición de un texto que, con las modificaciones que mencionaremos, ha sido reeditado hasta el año 2017. Con el comentario de la estructura de la obra, sus elementos textuales y peritextuales, las secuencias didácticas y fuentes se apunta a generar un insumo para estudios interpretativos y un aporte a la historiografía de la gramaticografía didáctica de lenguas extranjeras.
