Sumario: | The text reviews the presence of mathematics in the Aristotelian corpus. It examines its relationship with logic and the most characteristic substantive parts of theoretical philosophy: physic and metaphysic. It relates the debates about the foundation of mathematics of the early twentieth century with the main positions defended on the subject within the philosophical tradition. He concludes with the thesis that Aristotelian thought retains its validity for those who defend the unity of knowledge, but criticizes the great distance introduced between logic and mathematics. |
