In the field of economic history, approaches to the writings of women economists are not frequent. In this document it tries to identify and contextualize within the gender studies the works of women who wrote about political economy, in the period that begins in the mid-eighteenth century and reaches the end of the nineteenth century, especially in the British world. These first writings represent isolated women who are not yet aware of belonging to the group of women economists. The work method is historical-documentary with base on written sources. A classification of economists under a generational and thematic criterion in the period indicated reveals four phases. First, the phase of popularization of political economy, with Jane Marcet and Harriet Martineau, whose work was oriented to the dissemination of classical liberal conceptions according to the exposition of the classical masters, particularly Adam Smith. Then, with Maria Edgeworth and Elizabeth Gaskell, political economy acquires a narrative and social criticism tone. Third, a criticism about the situation of women and the need for deep reforms that break with the historical subjection of women is reached with Harriet Taylor Mill. Finally, the institutionalization of the academic space of the economist woman is proposed, with the example of Mary Paley Marshall. The paper shows a continuous process where the authors progressively develop, the elaboration of traditionally forbidden topics for them, which will constitute a turning point in the historiography of political economy. It is concluded that over time female voices were added to the disciplinary discussion, which raised new perspectives and ways of approach within the economy, modifying their original role as mere disseminators of the works to architects. |

En el campo de la historia económica no son frecuentes los abordajes sobre los escritos de las mujeres economistas. En el presente documento se procura identificar y contextualizar dentro de los estudios de género las obras de mujeres que escribieron sobre economía política, en un período que se inicia a mediados del siglo XVIII y llega hasta fines del siglo XIX, especialmente en el mundo británico. Estos primeros escritos representan a mujeres aisladas que no tienen consciencia aún de pertenecer al grupo de mujeres economistas. El método de trabajo es históricodocumental con base en las fuentes escritas. Una clasificación de las economistas bajo un criterio generacional y temático en el período señalado revela cuatro etapas. En primer lugar, la fase de popularización de la economía política, con Jane Marcet y Harriet Martineau, cuya labor se orientó a la difusión de las concepciones liberales clásicas de acuerdo a la exposición de los maestros clásicos, en particular Adam Smith. Luego, con Maria Edgeworth y Elizabeth Gaskell, la economía política adquiere un tono narrativo y de crítica social. En tercer término, se llega con Harriet Taylor Mill a una crítica sobre situación de la mujer y la necesidad de lograr reformas profundas que rompan con la histórica sujeción de la mujer. Por último, se plantea la institucionalización del espacio académico de la mujer economista, con el ejemplo de Mary Paley Marshall. En el documento se muestra un proceso continuo donde las autoras desarrollan progresivamente, la elaboración de temas tradicionalmente vedados para ellas, lo que constituirá un punto de inflexión en la historiografía de la economía política. Se concluye que con el tiempo se sumaron voces femeninas a la discusión disciplinaria, las cuales plantearon nuevas perspectivas y modos de abordajes dentro de la economía, modificando su rol original de meras divulgadoras de las obras a artífices.
