It is believed that Menger consolidates a position against the claims of the mainstream crystallized in German historicism. On the other hand, the forcefulness against the position of Berlin leads him to maintain that the nature and meaning of the exact orientation that define a new direction in the methodology of the social sciences. That is why this article seeks to reconstruct, through the analysis of contexts of the History of Economic Thought, the formation of Carl Menger's ideology through criticism of the intellectuals of Berlin and the postulates of classical economics. A fines del siglo XIX, en el contexto de las divergencias académicas y políticas entre Berlín y Viena se publica la obra "Principios de economía política", de Carl Menger, convirtiéndose en un documento fundador de un movimiento y, como un trabajo fundamental en la historia del pensamiento económico, exploraremos sus principales detalles dentro de la variedad de sus temas. Se cree que Menger consolida una posición contra las afirmaciones del mainstream cristalizado en el historicismo alemán. Por su parte, la contundencia contra la posición de Berlín lo lleva a mantener que la naturaleza y el significado de la orientación exacta que delimitan un nuevo rumbo en la metodología de las ciencias sociales. Es por ello que el presente artículo busca reconstruir, a través del análisis de contextos de la Historia del Pensamiento Económico, la formación del ideario de Carl Menger mediante la crítica a los intelectuales de Berlín y a los postulados de la economía clásica.
