Sumario:This paper searches a systematic exposition of central theoretical concepts in the Marxist theory of Louis Althusser and in the functionalist theory of Niklas Luhmann in relation to the categories ideology and public opinion, respectively. These concepts allow us to observe the distances and adversities between each theoretical position when explaining the origin and effects of the symbolic framework of a capitalist social order.
