Sumario: | The paper presents instances of public communication of science developed at the National University of General San Martin (UNSAM) and those deployed by its teachers-researchers during 2018. The study progresses characterizing the communication bodies and social media of UNSAM, together with the public communication of science events organized by the fore-mentioned institution and the communicative actions of the production of science and technology that its academics deploy in massive media at the local, national and international levels.
The study is positioned from the paradigm of circulation, and recover the conceptual notions of "public communication of science" as a process of participation and collaborative production of scientific knowledge, which underlie social practices crossed by political-cultural positions (Ataide Malcher and Cunha Lopes, 2013 and Erazo Pesántez 2007). The methodological strategy is based on a mixed model (Creswell, 2014), which developed in an articulated way instances for collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data on the public communication of science deployed at UNSAM. Among its most significant findings, it can be noted that the University has, among other bodies, a science journalism agency, with a strong and diversified institutional presence in social networks. In line with this, teachers-researchers are visible in multiple ways in mass media, motorizing the circulation of scientific knowledge. |
