Sumario: | In this article we will reconstruct the disputes between conservative and progressive groups at the National University of Córdoba (UNC) over the institutionalization or not of Sociology (in courses, undergraduate and graduate degrees, research groups, participation in national and international networks of the discipline, etc.), and for the control of this institutionalization, from the beginning of the XXth Century to the present, in relation to the broader political struggles in Cordoba and Argentine society. We will show how, in this process, the career was established in other universities in the province; how sociological discussions took place outside of university settings; how in the university, teaching and research in Sociology passed in other faculties and associated with other disciplines such as Law, Communication, Social Work, Letters, Education Sciences, etc.; how some teachers and researchers were accomplices of the dictatorship while others had to go into exile; how, in this context, the referents of the area were formed: with undergraduate studies in other disciplines and postgraduate studies abroad, work abroad; and how, meanwhile, in similar universities in the country and the region, undergraduate courses were created and national and international networks were developed. |
