| Sumario: | The objective of this research was to show the poverty conditions of the inhabitants of the municipality of Güémez, Tamaulipas, Mexico, based on the theory of the culture of poverty understood as a common good shared by the inhabitants in the construction of their future in their permanent struggle against inequality, which is also considered one of the causes of the stagnation of the communities because they become dependent on social programs. The study was mixed, 372 surveys were applied in 40 communities in the municipality of Güémez, the field diary and non-participant observation were used. The results reflect that the municipality of Güémez has public services, natural and cultural resources that guarantee the quality of life of the inhabitants and are not valued by themselves. |
