Sumario:After having had a conflictive relationship for several years with the leading of its union, the Unión Tranviarios Automotor (UTA), a major fraction of the Buenos Aires subway workers decided -by 2008- to split and form a new union, the Association of Subway and Premetro Workers (AGTSyP). Probably the most widely spread on the subject is that which maintains that the presence of more than one union in a particular workplace weakens union power from the state and employers. However, there are other interpretations which argue that while it is desirable, does not necessarily weaken Labor against Capital and State.
