Sumario:Compilations of ancient Greek myths present multiple situations of social defenselessness of women: repudiation, abandonment, ill treatment, matricide, death at the hands of members of the same oikos, kidnapping, including loans and "ginecophagism" by the husband, various punishments like ritual exclusion or mutilations, multiple rejections, hidden births to avoid infanticide and her own death, donation of children to save their lives, including filicide to avoid worse evils. In this investigation a set of Greek mythical stories will be revised that, witnesses of similar patterns, reflect feminine fear under a mythical guise, their conditions of inferiority and extreme forms of survival in a hostile world.
