In this book, which was published in 2009 and includes a dozen short stories, there appears a discourse which reveals itself and fights against hegemonic discourses in the field of meaning. There appears a different logos hand in hand with witchcraft and folk beliefs which permeates the stories and subverts the discourse of phallogocentrism. The stories experiment with horror, a genre historically employed by hegemonic discourse, in the hands of women and poor people, who seem to ask what happens if horror is exercised by the oppressed: horror literature, in this innovating shape, attempts against oppressing structures. Este artículo se propone vislumbrar el modo novedoso en el que resurge el terror en la narrativa argentina de los últimos años a partir del análisis de Los peligros de fumar en la cama de Mariana Enríquez, particularmente de los cuentos "El Carrito" y "La Virgen de la tosquera". En este libro, que se publicó en 2009 e incluye una docena de cuentos, hay un discurso que se manifiesta y disputa con el hegemónico a la hora de construir sentido. Aparece un logos-otro de la mano de la hechicería y las creencias populares que se filtra en los cuentos y subvierte el discurso del falo-logocentrismo. Los cuentos experimentan con el terror, un género que históricamente ha sido empleado para reproducir el discurso hegemónico, en manos esta vez de las mujeres y de los sectores populares, que parecen preguntar qué pasa si el terror lo ejercemos los y las oprimidos/as: el terror, en esta novedosa forma, atenta contra la estructura opresora.
