description This article seeks, through memories, documents and testimonies, to show Paulo Freire in his most diverse and varied dimensions. Through first-person accounts, some aspects of the man, the educator, the politician, and the friend are brought to light, not only in his daily gestures and relationships, but also in the spaces and moments through which the author of Pedagogy of the Oppressed went through and shaped his unique praxis. Thus, in this tribute-text, memories, photos, and poems are combined in a prose that manages to convey the deep feelings and affections linked to the most prosaic, academic, and political activities of Paulo, his friends, and his work team. The text offers a journey from the different formative, study and extension instances of the Brazilian educator - including Freire's visit to Buenos Aires and the unexpected conference he gave to Argentinean educators in which he outlined some ideas of his later Pedagogy of Autonomy on the virtues of the educator - to a poem by Rodrigues Brandão dedicated to Paulo. This author who, to this day, with his words, his listening and his outstretched hands "as if at a feast", gives courage to those who have lost courage, to those who have fallen into silence.

O presente artigo busca, por meio de memórias, documentos e testemunhos, mostrar Paulo Freire em suas mais diversas e variadas dimensões. Assim, através de relatos narrados em primeira pessoa, alguns aspectos do homem, do educador, do político e do amigo vão sendo pincelados não somente em seus gestos e vínculos cotidianos; mas também os espaços-momentos pelos quais o autor de Pedagogia do oprimido foi atravessando e configuraram sua práxis única. Assim, neste texto-homenagem, lembranças, fotos e poemas se combinam numa prosa que consegue transmitir os sentimentos e afetos profundos vinculados às atividades mais prosaicas, acadêmicas e políticas de Paulo, de seus amigos e de sua equipe de trabalho. O texto nos propõe um percurso a partir das diferentes instâncias formativas, de estudo e de extensão do educador brasileiro – incluindo a visita de Freire a Buenos Aires e a inesperada conferência que ele dá a educadores/as argentinos/as na qual esboçaria algumas ideias de seu posterior Pedagogia da autonomia sobre as virtudes do educador e da educadora – até um poema de Rodrigues Brandão dedicado a Paulo. Este autor que, até hoje, com sua palavra, sua escuta e suas mãos estendidas “como em festa”, dá ânimos para quem perdeu a coragem, para quem caiu no silêncio. El siguiente artículo busca a través de memorias, documentos y testimonios, mostrarnos a Paulo Freire desde las más diversas y variadas dimensiones. Así a través de relatos narrados en primera persona, se van pincelando aspectos del hombre, el educador, el político y el amigo no sólo en sus gestos y vínculos cotidianos; sino también en espacios-momentos por los que el autor de la Pedagogía del oprimido fue atravesando y configuraron una praxis única. En este texto- homenaje entonces, se combinan recuerdos, fotos y poemas en una prosa que logran transmitir los sentimientos y afectividades profundas vinculadas a las actividades más prosaicas, académicas y políticas de Paulo, sus amigos y equipos de trabajo. El texto nos propone un recorrido que va desde las distintas instancias formativas, de estudio y de extensión del educador brasileño -incluyendo la visita de Freire a Buenos Aires y la inesperada conferencia que da educadores/as argentinos/as, donde delinearía algunas ideas de su posterior Pedagogía de la Autonomía sobre las virtudes de la y del educador/a- hasta un poema de Rodrigues Brandão a la persona de Paulo. Este autor que, hasta hoy, con su palabra, su escucha y sus manos extendidas “como en fiesta”, anima a salir a quienes han perdido el coraje, a quienes han caído en el silencio.
