This study analyzes the novel and the mini-series that were made based on La Plaza del Diamante (1983), highlighting their place in the Spanish literary and audiovisual field, not only because of the great public success they obtained but also because they treated the subject of the Spanish Civil War and the Post-War on the small screen from a different perspective. Mercè Rodoreda's work gives us a symbolic, human and feminine view of these events, while the series captures their dark and repressive character.
