Sumario:This article presents the life story of an elementary school teacher who works in the state of Tlaxcala. This woman is a militant, activist and union leader in this state and faces a deep process of reform that seeks to flexibilize the teacher’s profession. The research is based on a contextual life story (Goodson, 2003) that allows to reconstruct this process from the lived experience. The article is divided in three parts, the first one presents the origin of this teacher’s political practice; the second one, reviews her experience of losing her teacher’s job. and, the third one, goes over the process of recovering her job.
