The research is based on a contextual life story (Goodson, 2003) that allows to reconstruct this process from the lived experience. The article is divided in three parts, the first one presents the origin of this teacher’s political practice; the second one, reviews her experience of losing her teacher’s job. and, the third one, goes over the process of recovering her job. Este estudio presenta la historia de vida de una maestra tlaxcalteca militante, activista y dirigente sindical que enfrenta una reforma cuyo eje central fue flexibilizar el trabajo docente. La investigación se basa en una historia de vida contextual (Goodson, 2003) que permite reconstruir este proceso a partir de la experiencia vivida. El artículo se organiza en tres apartados: el primero, presenta los orígenes de la práctica política de la maestra; el segundo, analiza la experiencia de la pérdida del empleo; y, el tercero, revisa el proceso de recuperación de su trabajo.
