Sumario:The project for continuous training of the Primary Education Career of the University of Costa Rica is oriented towards the implementation of virtual courses for Primary education teachers that respond to the needs of the educational context related to the emergency caused by COVID 19, understanding that wellplanned online experiences can generate learning environments that promote meaningful learning in the student body. From this perspective, this study proposes a virtual course pilot with the title "Introduction to virtual learningenvironments". The study is qualitative and its design responds to action research to pursue the transformation of educational reality. The sample is made up offourteen participants from the Primary Education area who enrolled and completed the course. The techniques and instruments used were the in-depth interview, focus groups, collaborative materials and a structured questionnaire. For the information coding process, the MAXQDA20 tool was used. Some conclusions are that the pandemic has generated a gap in access to education due to the limitation of the Internet and resources and the need for updating teachers is established to generate strategies in virtuality, integrating technological and pedagogical aspects. It is necessary to respond to the needs of the students in terms of the various scenarios, age characteristics, and adapt the amount of work, lesson time, breaks and socialization spaces.
